Fascia is a fibrous connective tissue membrane that envelopes every and each structure of the body. It’s continuous in the body extending from head to toe tridimensionally, meaning that if there’s tension in the fascia in one area, for example your knee, you can be feeling tension in a distant area as your hip.
Fascia connects the whole body maintaining its structure, providing protection, support and intercellular comunication.
Physical and emotional trauma, inflammatory responses, surgical procedures can cause MF disfunction producing over pressure on pain sensitive structures and hardening the fascia..
Medicine and traditional Physical therapy treatment free pain temporarily as it doesn’t work relieving this pressure. MFR works eliminating the pressure on the system producing a better and lasting result.
MFR is an effective technique where the therapist uses her hands to apply gentle and sustained pressure into restrictions of the fascia.
Treatment is performed directly on the skin without the use of lotion or oil. Continuous treatment is necessary to obtain result.
Please bring shorts and tank top (women) for session and don’t use cream/ lotion on your skin.
Time for consultation and dressing included in the session.
